Steve Kramp is the probably the most humble and generous human being I know. For example, if you were to ask him how long he served on the L’Arche Tahoma Hope Board of Trustees before resigning at the end of December, he would probably shrug and say, “for a while.” Turns out that Steve’s time on the Board can be measured in decades. His roles have included Vice President, serving on Mandate and Leader Search Teams, and as a member of the Membership and Finance Committees. Long Term Assistants hold a special place in Steve’s heart (the feeling is mutual), and he has also been a tremendous supporter of our auction.
Steve’s relationship with L’Arche goes back even further, to a time before medical school, meeting his spouse Sarah Thorpe, and raising their three children while practicing family medicine in the Pacific Northwest. Steve was a L’Arche assistant in Trosly, France when L’Arche was less than two decades old.
So even though Steve has stepped away from serving on the Board, he’s quick to say, “I’m not going anywhere!” He continues to stay connected and to support L’Arche generously. Thank you, Steve, for your dedication to the L’Arche mission, and for your ongoing care and support of this community!
Note: Steve’s departure leaves an open position on the Board. If you feel this might be a good fit for you, please contact our Board President, Paul Borne, through the office at [email protected] or 253-535-3178.
