Core members flourish at L’Arche because they’re supported in connecting with our larger community, whether through bowling with friends, coffee outings, or inviting friends to dinner in their home.

These activities are all stopped now. For good reasons, which we fully support. But it’s hard to explain to core members.

As adults with intellectual disabilities, they are familiar with social distancing. But it’s never been to keep them safe before.

Distancing in the past was because of their differences. It was being left out. Ostracized. Even ridiculed.
